Happy New Year! Hen Galan still celebrated after more than 200 years

In West Wales New Year's has struck again. In 1752 Britain moved from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, but some communities in West Wales decided they were going to stick with the celebration of the Julian New Year. Well Happy New Year! It's New Year's Eve all over again - at least for a few small communities in West Wales it is.

Today is Hen Galan - the old Julian calendar's New Year.

Celebration from last year
